I'm guessing you must be talking about something Rune Johansen had made. I
know of at least one other person who made a lightning include, for 3.0
(Jeff Brickley) and it had used halo for the ground contact point. I easily
changed it to media for 3.1 so there's no real difficulty in making such
changes; and it of course also works in 3.5.
You can mimic glows by using emitting media, so that's not impossible to do.
I don't know about the POV for Mac but MegaPOV 1.0 does have glows and I
didn't know it had any differences from the other platforms as far as those
kinds of features go.
